Our client, a re-known and well established Distribution Company based in Luton are looking for a highly competent HR Assistant to provide administrative assistance to the HR Officer and Health & Safety officer.

Candidates are required to have had previous experience working in a manufacturing / warehouse environment and need to be strong in IT, administration skills and multi-tasking.  Discretion is also required of the candidate combined with both good communication and confidence in the requirements of the position.

Required skills, knowledge and characteristics:

  • You must be capable of planning staff rostas, taking into account last minute and future changes.
  • You must be capable of monitoring staff requirements in line with production requirements
  • You must be capable of completing accurately and filing relevant paperwork in a neat and precise manner and at the correct point during your working day.
  • You must be capable of using related standard and relevant IT programmes and related equipment.
  • You must be capable of using related resources such as equipment and systems effectively and in a safe manner.
  • You should be confident in the practical application of Company Policies with regard to employee relations, health & safety, HR etc — training in company policies and procedures will be given.
  • You must be able to adapt well to change and constant interruptions.
  • You must be able to listen to staff concerns and give advice and act accordingly in line with Company policies.
  • Your interpersonal skills must allow you to establish a rapport with employees at all levels.
  • You must be committed to promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
  • You must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and common sense.
  • You must have a good working knowledge of MS Office and HR software (training given).
  • You will be required to provide payroll backup and maintain records relating to staff.

Current Salary is at £8.00 per hour

Working Days: Monday through to Friday

Hours: 8 am to 4pm - rest break of 30 minutes — hours may be subject to change to suit the requirements of the business.

Holidays: 20 days per year plus Bank Holidays
